China Famous Hotels Corporation (CFHC), originally the China famous hotel VIP club, is a community of common interest made up of star rated hotels and other tourist enterprises in China's main cities. Established in 1991, it is among the earliest such associations in the nation's hospitality industry. By 2009, this organization could boast of 50 members in 24 provinces; municipalities directly under the Central Government; autonomous regions; and Hong Kong and Macao . Members are located in 48 cities across the nation with 18,436 guest rooms; staff totaling 30,486 people; fixed assets valued at 7.7 billion US dollars, a total assets assessment of 10.9 billion US dollars; and an annual income of some 210 million US dollars.
CFHC has the aim of developing a common brand; mutual, beneficial cooperation, exploitation of common resource and mutual development. Our goal is to use the leverage of our combined resource to the advantage of all. We intend to pursue the interests of the whole while protecting member's individual interests to meet the challenge of global economic integration; China 's accession to the WTO; and the creation of national hotel brand.
CFHC now is well on the way to organizing such a national brand as the initial, loose ties of friendship have become a specialized, directed development including the establishment of a CFHC (Hong Kong) Hotel Management Company; CFHC reservation center; CFHC VIP Club; and a Marketing Department. Included are training and qualification exams and quality management of such essential elements as F&B, human resource, guest affairs management and purchasing information. To this end, five professional committees have been formed.
The National Tourism Administration has spoken highly of the CFHC and has given constant encouragement and support to the establishment and development of a Chinese brand qualified to represent the nation in the international hotel industry.
